Boca Raton has a rich and diverse culture. This is reflected in its many parks, museums and other attractions. This includes Sugar Sand Park, which houses the Children’s Science Explorium.
Golf courses are more than just places to play; they are an integral part of the community. They provide residents and visitors with an exceptional playing experience and contribute to the luxury and beauty of South Florida.
Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club
Golf and tennis are the main amenities at Boca Raton Golf and Racquet Club. It also features a restaurant, a racquet center and meeting space. Its 18-hole golf course Boca Raton provides experienced and new players with a premier country club experience. The club is open to the public, and membership options include full and flex. The golf course has a David Pelz short game school and a separate pitching/chipping area. The facility is undergoing renovations, including impact windows and replacement of clubhouse awnings.
The Boca Raton Beach and Park District wants to keep the Ocean Breeze golf course as a public facility, but it may have to close the pool and replace the tennis courts. Residents of the 960-home community who are premier members of the club have been able to use both facilities, but city officials say they may need to make changes to keep the golf course affordable.
Those changes will probably come after the district takes over the club on Oct. 17. It will continue to re-roof maintenance buildings, remove weeds on the course and renovate restrooms. It will also reopen the parking lot and the golf shop.
A consultant will present the plan to council members during a workshop later this month. It will also include a cost estimate for the racquet center, which would include tennis and pickleball courts.
Osprey Point Golf Club
Osprey Point has been open since 2010 but has already been ranked among the top public golf courses in Florida. Located in the Bert Aaronson South County Regional Park in western Boca Raton, this award-winning 27-hole facility backs up to a National Wildlife Refuge. It is not only the best course in the area but also one of the most well-maintained public courses in the state. I’ve been on ranges at private clubs with $100K+ initiation fees that were not kept in as good of shape as the Osprey Point driving range and practice greens.
Osprey Point features 27 holes spread out in three nine-hole courses that can be played in a variety of 18-hole combinations. Each hole offers five sets of tees to challenge players of every skill level. The course’s beautiful lowcountry salt marsh setting and stunning clubhouse add to its appeal.
The golf course is named after birds of prey, and it’s appropriate because it is an Audubon International Certified Classic Sanctuary. The golf course was designed by Tom Fazio, and the layout is challenging yet player-friendly. The fairways are consistently mowed and offer a lush playing surface, and the sand bunkers are penal but not punishing.
The golf course is in excellent condition, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pro shop is well-stocked with the latest equipment, and the staff can help you select the right clubs for your game.

Tennis is a major draw at Boca Lago, with 16 Har-Tru tennis courts available to members. The club has a full-time head teaching tennis pro, Rick Macci, who has coached renowned players such as Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Venus Williams. The club is also home to a comprehensive training facility, with a golf academy and dedicated short game area.
Boca Lago also boasts a range of family-friendly activities and programs for children and teens. These include cooking and arts classes, holiday commemorations, and themed golf tournaments and tennis clinics. Additionally, the club offers various social clubs for its members to meet and connect with other like-minded people.
The Woods Course is a classic Joe Lee design that challenges players of all skill levels. The Lake Course, designed by Karl Litten, is a more traditional layout that emphasizes shotmaking over distance. The club also offers a variety of practice facilities, including chipping and putting greens.
