The team ban goes alongside EA's FC 25 Coins ongoing ban of game sales in Russia, including highly profitable add-on content such as Ultimate Team packs which is one of EA's biggest sources of revenue. However, EA and the various other companies to ban game sales have not cut off access from players in Russia who already purchased games and any associated content.

The Russian government has not taken these actions by the games industry lying down, though, and has pushed through legislation to combat these bans. First was outright legalizing game piracy in March 2022 as part of its greater efforts to combat the economic sanctions which have largely crippled the nation. More recently, though, it was reported development a state-sanctioned game engine meant to rival Unreal Engine 5 was approved by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.

Electronic Arts is making some long-needed improvements to its annual soccer game with FC 25. The introduction of cross-play between PC, PS5. Stadia, and Xbox Series X/S players, as well as between PS4 and Xbox One players, is particularly exciting. Cross-play has been requested in FC by fans for a very long time. Yet as exciting as it is, EA is actually holding back on full support for the technology. Specifically, FC 25 is not enabling cross-play for its incredibly popular Pro Clubs game mode.

An official confirmation from EA has made clear FC 25 's cross-play will not be coming to Pro Clubs in the foreseeable FC 25 Ultimate Teamure. The reason for this, according to EA, is to ensure that its "product innovation is delivered at quality." Further, Pro Clubs, according to EA, requires a level of technical intricacy that is beyond what the developers are able to support at this time.

"Technical intricacy" is an understated way of describing the situation. Pro Clubs in buy FIFA 25 Coins allow up to 22 players together in a single online multiplayer match, with between 2-11 real players per team. Connecting 22 players together on a single platform is no simple matter, so adding the intermixing of up to four different platforms makes it that much more challenging.
