Sharadiya Navratri 2024: Navratri is celebrated twice a year and is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The Chaitra and Ashwin months are considered the most significant for Navratri. This year, Sharadiya Navratri, falling in the month of Ashwin, will begin on October 3, 2024. Sharadiya Navratri is a Hindu festival where devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga over nine days. During this time, devotees fast and pray to seek the blessings of the goddess. Special rituals such as puja, havan, and the worship of young girls (Kanya Pujan) are performed. The festival concludes on the tenth day with Vijayadashami or Dussehra, symbolizing the victory of good over evil.
This year, there will be slight variations in the dates of Sharadiya Navratri, but the festival will still last for nine days. Durga Ashtami and Durga Navami will both be observed on October 11, 2024. However, there are differences in the calendar regarding the exact dates. According to the schedule, Panchami will be on October 7 and 8, followed by Ashtami and Navami on October 11.
